Facilitation

Facilitation gives groups the freedom to focus, think deeply, and problem-solve together without getting stuck in details. As a facilitator, I support groups and teams to work cooperatively and productively to identify, develop, and reach their goals. I actively help groups gain clarity, make decisions, solve problems, and plan their next steps together.

Much of the facilitation work happens early in the planning and preparation stages, often before everyone is in the same room. I prioritize connecting with participants early to understand their individual issues, interests, and needs, helping to ensure everyone’s perspective is represented. This upfront work allows me and all participants to have clarity on the group’s main concerns and the primary goals of the facilitation process.

The facilitation itself is essential for the group to build a shared understanding of the problem and begin creating a path forward.

After a facilitation session, I may also support parties with written post-facilitation summaries and can facilitate ongoing conversations depending on the group’s goals and needs.

Facilitation can be a useful process in many settings, including:

  • Staff meetings, work sessions, and team retreats

  • Board, commission, or council retreats

  • Leadership teams

  • Family matters

  • Probate

  • Organizational governance

  • Community and neighborhood groups

  • Professional associations

  • Homeowner associations

Each process is designed to meet the unique needs of the group. Please reach out to learn more!
